USYS National League Regional Showcase New England 2024 Tournament Preview
Over Memorial Day Weekend, US Youth Soccer will have its final Regional Showcase with the USYS National League Regional Showcase New England at Progin Park in Lancaster, Mass. Managed by EDP Soccer, the event is one of five National League Regional Showcases during the season, and the last of three held in the East Region this Spring. With each showcase located at top venues across the country, these large-scale events create great recruiting opportunities for players and coaches.
Over 150 teams will participate in the New England Regional Showcase, featuring diverse cross-conference matchups from various parts of the region. Teams from multiple National League Conferences will be competing, with the field of teams composed of over 50 clubs from eight USYS State Associations and Canada. Over 230 games will be played during the three-day showcase.
A look at Some of the Event’s Brackets:
17U Boys
The 17U Boys Platinum Bracket welcomes teams from three National League Conferences from across four state associations. Union County FC Sampdoria from New Jersey is having a fantastic season and is currently in first place in Premier I Division of the Mid Atlantic Conference. Seacoast United Bedford 2007 Elite Boys (NH) and Rhode Island Surf B2007 Elite (RI) are currently first and second at the top of the table in the New England Conference with Seacoast United at a perfect 7-0 after defeating Rhode Island Surf (6-1-1) last weekend 4-0. Progressive Youth Soccer Club 07B Orange out of Brooklyn, NY, is in first place in the Premier I Division of the North Atlantic Conference with a 7-1-0 record and is joined by FC Somers Spartans, who Progressive just defeated in an exciting 4-3 match. The bracket is rounded out by Cedar Stars Academy Hudson Valley 2007, who were Eastern New York State Cup Semifinalists last season.
16U Girls
The 16U Girls Diamond Bracket has great diversity with teams from four state associations, plus Canada. Canadian side Team New Brunswick returns to the event looking to build on a strong performance in 2023. Capital Elite FC 2008/2009 out of the North Atlantic Conference enters coming off its Eastern New York State Cup semifinalist finish last week. TSJFCV United 08G NE out of Virginia finished in second place in the South Atlantic Conference this past Fall. Pennridge United 2008 Girls has been one of the best up-and-coming teams from Pennsylvania and will look to take advantage of playing these top teams. The bracket is rounded out by Long Island SC 2008 Academy II, who were State Cup Quarterfinalists last year, and a CFC North 2008 side that finished third in the New England Conference last season.
