Early Offensive Player of the Year Odds for the 2025-26 NFL Season

We are still over three months away from the first game of the 2025-26 NFL season, but it is never too early to start looking at NFL betting odds. On Thursday, September 4, the defending Offensive Player of the Year (OPOY) Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles will take on CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys. Barkley is favoured to repeat as OPOY at +550, and Lamb sits at +1800 behind eight other players. Here is a top 10 list of the most likely players to win the award this season, based on odds over at bet365.

Barkley had a magical season in his first year with the Philadelphia Eagles, winning the Super Bowl, Offensive Player of the Year, and finishing third in MVP voting. Barkley exploded onto the NFL scene in 2018, winning Offensive Rookie of the year. A season- ending injury in 2020 slowed down his career, but he got back on track in 2022-23, and then truly proved he is still one of the best offensive players in the league this season. He led the league with 2005 rushing yards and 125.3 yards per game, while matching his rookie season with 15 total touchdowns. The 27-year-old is favoured to repeat as OPOY, and if he were to achieve the feat, he would be the first player to do so since Marshall Faulk in 2000. Faulk and Earl Campbell are the only players to win the award in consecutive seasons (both threepeating) and eight players have won the award multiple times.

Other active players looking to join the list of eight to win multiple Offensive Player of the Year awards are Christian McCaffrey (2023), Justin Jefferson (2022), Cooper Kupp (2021), Derrick Henry (2020), and Patrick Mahomes (2018). Kupp is the biggest longshot here at +15000, still a solid NFL wide receiver but in decline at age 32. Mahomes has taken a bit of decline in offensive production since winning his second MVP in 2022-23 and sits at just +7500. Henry, Jefferson, and McCaffrey all rank in the top 10 in odds along with Barkley, so there is a solid chance that we see our ninth repeat winner of the award this season.

Players in the top 10 who have yet to win the award include Ja’Marr Chase, Jahmyr Gibbs, Bijan Robinson, Nico Collins, Puka Nacua, and CeeDee Lamb. Chase won Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 and finished third in OPOY voting last season. Gibbs finished

eighth in award voting and led the league with 16 rushing touchdowns and 20 rushing and receiving touchdowns. Both of these players rank second and third respectively behind Barkley in odds, but anyone in the top 10, and even someone outside of it, could realistically win the award. Barkley was +2200 to win the award coming into last season, and Cooper Kupp was +8000 preseason when he won in 2021.

Some interesting notes for those looking to place betting picks for NFL Offensive Player of the Year, only four wide receivers have won the award in history, but three have come in the last five years (Michael Thomas in 2019, Cooper Kupp in 2021, and Justin Jefferson in 2022). Jerry Rice is the only receiver to win the award more than once. Running backs lead the way winning 29 awards, and quarterbacks rank second with 20. Of the 51 award winners, 28 were also voted MVP. The last two winners were running backs, and the only time a player at this position has won in three consecutive seasons was from 1996-2003, when each winner was a running back.

There are five running backs and five wide receivers on bet365’s top 10 list, but Josh Allen (+2800), Lamar Jackson (+2800), and Jayden Daniels (+3500) all have solid shots at the quarterback position. Allen is coming off an MVP season where he recorded 13 rushing/receiving touchdowns, 28 passing touchdowns, and only six interceptions. Jackson finished second in OPOY and MVP voting last season after winning MVP in 2023- 24. Daniels is the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year and is looking to prove he is truly one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
